Shalimar Bagh is about 15 km from Srinagar city. The area of the garden is about 31 acres which is 539 m. Length and 182 m. width The entire garden covered in snow in winter and in spring the garden is full of flowers.
Jharna Dhara within the garden, this place has different names but is popularly known as Shalimar Bagh. This establishment founded in 1619 by the famous Mughal Emperor Jahangir to appease his beloved Nur Jahan. The beautiful green grass carpet, known and unknown different kinds of flowers and fruits, wonderful maple trees spread the vine leaves of this tree down and brought a unique look to the beauty of Shalimar Bagh.
Chashme Shahi:
Another name of Chashme Shahi Bagan is Shahi bagh which is 9 km from Srinagar. Mughal emperor Shahjahan built Chashme Shahi Bagh for his wife Mumtaz. The garden was built in 1632. The beautiful green grass carpet, known and unknown flowers, fruit trees here have brought a unique form to its beauty. Seeing that, your travel fatigue will go away in no time. Cold water is available in the garden during spring.
